Jennifer Lawrence Cried When No One Could Attend Bachelorette Party

Jennifer Lawrence has made a name for herself playing strong, powerful characters.

From Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games to Mystique in X-Men, or her scene-stealing turn in American Hustle and Oscar-winning performance in Silver Linings Playbook – coupled with her outspoken attitude off screen, too – Lawrence is somewhat of a force to be reckoned with in Hollywood.

However, the 28-year-old is, like the rest of us mere mortals, only human. Lawrence recently revealed she broke into tears when none of her friends could make it to her bachelorette party.

Speaking on the podcast NAKED with Catt Sadler, Lawrence revealed how she’d tried to organise a party for herself and her friends before she got married, but things didn’t quite go according to plan.

The 28-year-old is engaged to Cooke Maroney, an art dealer from Vermont, who she met through mutual friends.

As the actor explained on the podcast:

I thought I didn’t want to have a bachelorette party, and then last minute I decided I did.

Then nobody was available because it was last minute. And then I started crying. I was like, ‘I don’t even know why I’m crying. I didn’t know that I wanted a bachelorette party. I guess I just feel pathetic.’ [Maroney] was like, ‘Oh my god, you don’t need to feel pathetic’.

Lawrence described it as her ‘bridezilla moment’, but added planning the other parts of her wedding had been plain sailing.

Want some more wedding goss? Well open wide because I’m flinging some at you anyway.

It turns out, Jennifer and Cooke have found a venue AND a dress for the big day. I know, I know.

As she said:

I haven’t been neurotic about it. I’m like too lazy to be neurotic. I saw a dress I liked and I was like, ‘That’s the dress’. I saw a venue and I was like, ‘Cool, we got the venue’.

Speaking about her relationship with Cooke, Lawrence said:

I definitely wasn’t at a place where I was like, ‘I’m ready to get married’. I just met Cooke and I wanted to marry him. We wanted to marry each other, we wanted to commit fully.

He’s my best friend. I want to legally bind him to me forever.

He’s the greatest person I’ve ever met, so I feel very honored to become a Maroney.

Congrats, J-Law!
