Do you know what TV in 2018 needs? Not so-called celebrities eating critters or Speedo-clad Casanovas mugging each other off.
Nope. TV needs to shape up and clean up. TV in 2018 needs G.T.L. And that’s just what viewers will be welcoming onto our small screens now MTV have confirmed the Jersey Shore cast will be reuniting next year.
Take a trip down the booze-hazed memory lane – the Jersey Shore strip – with us below:

Just when you thought their days of fist-pumping were over, and Pauly D was lost to the world of mediocre DJing, the Jersey Shore crew is returning to MTV for another season, dubbed Jersey Shore Family Vacation in 2018.
The network confirmed the news on Monday during the premiere of Floribama Shore, the knock off version of the Jersey kids on the block based in Panama City Beach, which is now in its second season and is looking to franchise.
Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi, Jenni ‘Jwoww’ Farley, Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino, Paul ‘Pauly D’ DelVecchio, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Vinny Guadagnino and Deena Cortese are all expected to return.
Samantha ‘Sammi Sweetheart’ Giancola was not named in the press release, alongside her former beau, Ronnie; which is good news for those of us with sensitive ears who couldn’t stand to hear the volatile and nasal relationship break down again.
The reunion was teased on social media, leaving fans of the Shore – who have sadly stopped living vicariously through the proud Italians, grown up and got real jobs – ready for the hot tub.
We talked, MTV listened, apparently:
Jersey Shore Vacation is part of the strategy of the new MTV regime to revive some of the network’s popular unscripted franchises, reports Deadline.
In addition to Jersey Shore, recent reboots include My Super Sweet 16 which originally aired from 2005-2008, TRL (1998-2008), and Unplugged which first premiered in 1989.
The G.T.L lifestyle, and the gang’s late night antics, captured the unoriginal imaginations of TV networks worldwide, and the Jersey Shore franchise was soon rolled out in other countries, with extensions around the globe including Gandia Shore in Spain, Warsaw Shore in Poland and Acapulco Shore in Mexico.
Lest we forget Charlotte Crosby: we have a lot to thank the Jersey guys and girls for, inspiring Geordie Shore in the UK and allowing British youth to expand their culture of binge-drinking too.
But times on the Shore have changed – and who knows what the reunion will bring? Snooki and J Woww – and their ‘womance’ – are both still popular with loyal fans but the pair are now both mothers.
Will Ronnie still have concerning anger issues, drowned in vodka? Will Mike still be a douche-bag? Will Pauly D ever be a successful DJ? Will Vinnie reveal himself to be Drake’s longest-serving lookalike?
Never mind these curated so-called celebrity game shows that could be sued under the Trade Descriptions Act for having literally zero celebrities partake…
The perma-tanned group of OGs are back and we have a real reality TV situation on our hands.
Cabs are heeeeere!
