John Legend Massively Mugs Off Honey G On Live TV

Having worked with some of the world’s biggest artists, John Legend knows quality when he sees it, and Honey G isn’t it.

After Legend helped mentor the rapper this week before taking to the stage himself on Sunday, he made his feelings more than clear during an awkward interview with Dermot O’Leary.

Following his performance, Dermot said: “You’ve worked with Kanye, Jay Z and Snoop Dogg and now you can add Honey G to that list.”

Rather than immediately answer, Legend rolled his eyes and said: “I have to pinch myself. She is entertaining, yes.”

Basically, he said what everyone has been thinking.

Speaking to the Mirror, he said:

All I told her was try and be the best version of her that you can be.

You know; people are obviously getting caught up in the novelty of it.

The song she had chosen [Ice Ice Baby], I thought, heightened the novelty of her because it was referencing another novelty act, which I thought wasn’t the best idea, so I told her that. What else do you want me to say?!

And it seems like John’s wife Chrissy Teigen has similar views. Taking to Twitter, she said: “I am X Factor UK. What is a honey g”
