Summit Entertainment It’s official. John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum is in the cinemas, getting rave reviews, and spoilers left, right and centre.
The third film in the John Wick franchise is bigger, badder and bloodier than ever before.

We’ve been treated to a hell of narrative arc concerning everyone’s favourite kind of retired assassin for hire in John Wick and John Wick 2, but apparently Parabellum offers us a human side we have yet to see from the titular character, expertly portrayed by Keanu Reeves.
Yes, okay, we’ve had the long gazes into his smartphone, recalling quieter more romantic times with his tragically deceased wife Ellen.
We’ve had moments of empathy with his dog Daisy, who was brutally murdered by Theon Greyjoy, kicking off this whole saga or revenge and redemption.
LionsgateWe’ve even enjoyed the close connection between John and his other assassin buddies – Harry and Winston, to name just two – as well as their admirable adherence to a murderous code of ethics.
But now… Now, we have John Wick’s actual name.
I’ll be honest, I didn’t even realise John Wick wasn’t the assassin’s real name. But come to think of it, John Wick is way too cool a name to not be real.
LionsgateAccording to the narrative laid out in Chapter 3, Wick seeks sanctuary after we pick up where we left off, with a $14 million bounty on his head.
Said sanctuary is an old theatre disguising a developmental training ground for fighters, assassins, and dancers, run by Anjelica Huston’s character, The Director.
Upon their reunion, we learn John Wick was raised by The Director to be an assassin and she starts calling him ‘Jardani’.
LionsgateWithout giving too much away, John later delivers a mesmerising speech in which he declares:
My name is Jardani Jovonovich.
Not much more is revealed beyond that, but with hints of a fourth film being dropped by director, Chad Stahelski, and the film smashing Avengers: Endgame at the box office in its opening weekend, maybe we’ll find out more next time.
