Daenerys Targaryen has always wanted to make her way to the Iron Throne and claim her rightful seat as Queen of Westeros.

But Cersei may have to convert some palace quarters into a baby room if this Game of Thrones theory is correct.

Over the past few episodes Daenerys and Jon have been getting a little bit cosy in Dragonstone, and Dany was practically drooling at Jon with his top off at the end of ‘Beyond the Wall’.

But that scene was also punctuated with the reminder that Dany definitely couldn’t have any children.

She was told this way back in season one by Mirri Maz Duur, who also tells her that ‘only death can pay for life’.

But this doesn’t necessarily mean that a Daenerys/Jon lovechild is off the cards, not by a long shot.

HBO

That’s because, in the books, Mirri Maz Duur says to Daenerys that Khal Drogo will return’…when your womb quickens again, and you bear a living child.’

Redditor WinterHill28 has a theory:

The latest episode mentioned Dany’s heir and being infertile a HELL of a lot. As we all know, Dany sees her Dragons as her children. Mirri Maz Duur in Season 1 says to Dany ‘Only death may pay for life’.

So, what if all the talk of heirs and one of Dany’s ‘children’ dying means she will now be able to conceive a real, human child after paying for life with death?

HBO

This makes even more sense when you think that Daenerys’ first child came immediately after the death of her brother Viserys, who was the namesake for Viserion the dragon who just died.

One thing can’t be denied, Beyond The Wall went heavy on the whole children and lineage thing, Jorah and Jon talked about it, Dany and Jon talked about it, and even in the previous episode Cersei revealed that she was preggers.

We’ve even got confirmation from the horse’s mouth that the romance is not just something us fans are reading into.

HBO

Director of Beyond the Wall Alan Taylor told HuffPost:

There’s more to come, politically, between them, and also romantically. We see it certainly just under the surface in my episode. There’s a wonderful moment when Dany gets to Jon while he’s lying in bed where you can see she’s sort of falling for him.

She’s drawn aback. There’s a shot where she sees him unconscious, and he looks really great with his scars and his abs.

HBO

He continued:

It’s not just political. Then Tyrion is making fun of her because he sees it coming, too, but I think it’s been coming for a while. It’s not just my episode. It has places to go, obviously.

Combine that with the title of the new episode ‘The Dragon and the Wolf‘. That 100% relates to Daenerys and Jon as they get closer and closer.

So there we have it folks, we could be seeing a little baby Targaryen on Game of Thrones any time now, and true to the family’s rich history it could be born of incest. Yay?
