Jurassic World Series Coming To Netflix In 2020

The other day I found out the Dark Crystal was being made into a Netflix series, and my heart did a little jump of delight and fear at the prospect of episodes worth of the creepy Skeksis.

Now Netflix is transforming yet more of our childhood movie terrors into full blown TV series, bringing the dinosaur infested island of Isla Nublar to a wonderfully bingeable format.

Yep, Netflix are a bringing a brand new Jurassic World animated series, which should bring plenty more thrills for armchair paleontologists everywhere.

Set during the same timeline as 2015’s Jurassic World, this series will follow the story of six teenagers left stranded on Isla Nublar.

With flesh-hungry dinosaurs on the loose, those who have seen the movies so far can guess that this won’t be a relaxing retreat.

As reported by IGN The show is due to debut at some point in 2020 and will be entitled Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.

Produced by Dreamworks Animation, this animated series will be executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall, Colin Trevorrow, Scott Kreamer and Lane Lueras.

Show runners on Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous will be Scott Kreamer (Pinky Malinky)and Lane Lueras (Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny).

This news comes just after Bryce Dallas Howard dropped some intriguing hints about Jurassic Park 3, hinting that the original Jurassic Park cast could be returning.

During an interview, Howard – who plays legendary high-heeled runner Claire Dearing – appears to have teased the reappearance of OG Jurassic Park characters Dr Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), Dr Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) and Dr Alan Grant (Sam Neil).

Speaking with MTV News about whether she would be excited to share a screen with the original cast, Howard said:

Yes, very much so. If that happens, I don’t know.

Jurassic World 3 is expected to stomp into cinemas as of June 11, 2021.
