Ant McPartlin has revealed that Katie Price tried to seduce his double act partner, Declan Donnelly at the wrap party for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
According to Ant, Katie tried her best to crack on with Dec in 2004, even though she’d just begun a relationship with the singer Peter Andre.
There may be few of you out there thinking this is old news, and you’re right because this first came to light in Ant and Dec’s 2009 autobiography ‘Ooh! What A Lovely Pair’.
But as I’m a Celeb is back on the telly it’s fun to look back at series gone by isn’t it?
According to Ant, he and I’m A Celebrity series 3 winner Kerry Katona were drinking shots when he noticed Katie making a pass at Dec who’d spent most of the evening trying to hide from her.
He wrote:
The other thing I remember from that party is doing shots with Kerry, and Jordan [Katie’s glamour model alter-ego] chasing after Dec, who she had propositioned during her departure interview.
Unfortunately for Katie, Dec was already in a relationship with his childhood sweetheart, Clare Buckfield, and he gave her the brush off.
Not one to take rejection lightly Katie responded by getting her mum involved who was apparently desperate to set the pair up.
It wasn’t meant to be however and Katie had to console herself with Peter Andre, who would become her husband and the father to two of her children, Junior and Princess.
As per The Mirror, in their book Dec wrote:
I don’t think anyone would have put Peter and Jordan together before the series. She had a boyfriend when she went in, and no one had heard from him [Peter] for years – to most people he was a cheesy nineties pop star.
It was the first time two people began a relationship on the show, and it was fascinating to watch. We were so excited, me and Ant even talked about getting hats for their wedding, like Cilla used to on Blind Date.
Series 18 of I’m a Celeb is currently showing on ITV and is being hosted by Holly Willoughby and Dec Donnelly while Ant recovers from his recent health problems.
I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! will return tonight at 9pm.
