Keanu Reeves’ Reps Deny ‘Lonely Guy’ Claims

Fame and fortune doesn’t combat loneliness, as John Wick star Keanu Reeves proved when he described himself as a ‘lonely guy’ in a recent interview.

There’s no doubt big Hollywood actors like Reeves are inundated with invitations to glamorous events, where they’d be surrounded with numerous celebrities, or chat shows, where they’d laugh and joke with the host, but although they might be kept busy, that doesn’t necessarily mean they always have someone to talk to about the more personal stuff.

The 54-year-old actor has been doing the rounds promoting John Wick 3: Parabellum recently, which he stars in alongside Halle Berry.

Reeves was asked, quite randomly, ‘What does love mean to you?’, and in response he revealed he didn’t have a special someone to share everything with – though he hopes they’ll come along soon.

He said:

You mean romantic love? You know, I’m the lonely guy. I don’t have anyone in my life. But if it does occur, I would respect and love the other person; hopefully it’ll happen for me.

The interviewer then decided to dig a little deeper, and asked if Reeves was ‘content’ with being lonely. It was probably more of an intense question than the 54-year-old had anticipated from someone who was likely a stranger, but I suppose it’s always good to talk about these things.

The Matrix star answered:

I don’t concern myself with it that much. I’m an actor, so in terms of what you’re asking about, I have no answer.

He added his fame can sometimes make him feel like ‘an animal in a cage’, saying:

There’re definitely paparazzi chasing after you, but I don’t go out much, I don’t really do anything. I’m pretty boring.

His response seemed a bit evasive if you ask me, but hopefully Reeves’ loneliness doesn’t get him down. He could always take a leaf out of John Wick’s book and surround himself with dogs; they never fail to provide some good company!

Parabellum has been a resounding success since its release earlier this month, and managed to take out Avengers: Endgame at the box office on its opening weekend as well as earning a near-perfect score of 98 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Update

Keanu Reeves’ reps have since refuted the quotes reported by The Jakarta Post and originally posted by Star2, insisting the quotes were a fabrication based on previous interviews.

In an article published by The Huffington Post, a rep stated the interview never happened.

The spokesperson explained:

This interview did not happen. This was pieced together from several interviews and the majority of these questions were not asked nor answered. They are fabricated.
