Fans will have got used to seeing Keanu Reeves looking rugged and unshaven in John Wick but now he’s back looking fresh faced as he turned up for the first day on Bill and Ted 3.
After a long, long wait, lovers of the quirky time travelling rockers will be over the moon to know filming for the next film is finally underway.
I’m sure a lot of people wished they had their own time machine so they could just fast forward straight to the movie’s release but we’ll get there eventually!
Three decades after he first brought Ted “Theodore” Logan to life, Reeves appeared on set in New Orleans to reprise the character for the third instalment; Bill and Ted Face The Music.
He was photographed heading to the set and, although he hid himself beneath a cap and sunglasses, his lack of chin hair alone was almost enough to make him unrecognisable.
Take a look here:
According to Variety, Reeves will appear in the film alongside co-star Alex Winter (Bill) as well as other returning stars such as Amy Stoch (Missy), Hal Landon Jr. (Ted’s father) and William Sadler (Death).
Deadline report Saturday Night Live star Beck Bennett is set to join the cast as Deacon Logan, Ted’s younger brother, while other cast members include Scott Mescudi, best known by his stage name Kid Cudi; Samara Weaving, starring as Bill’s daughter Thea Preston and Brigette Lundy-Paine, who will play Ted’s daughter Billie.
Alex Winter announced the start of production earlier this month on Twitter, writing:
Just got to location to shoot @BillandTed3. Making movies is a miraculous gig, but it’s also stressful & fairly nuts.
Good to be here with @ed_solomon, our great director & producer, many folks I’ve known most of my life. We’re family, and that makes this all the more special.
Face The Music has been penned by Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson, who also created 1989’s Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure and 1991’s Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey, suggesting the third film will stay true to the franchise.
It’s not set to be released until next year but with filming now underway fans can really start to get excited about seeing the comedic, musical duo back in action!
Bill and Ted Face The Music will be released in cinemas on August 21, 2020.
