It’s time to get excited as a John Wick television series is happening and Keanu Reeves may make a cameo appearance.
The idea was first floated back in January by Chad Stahelski, co-director of the first film, and solo director of the second, who mentioned the idea of a prequel that told Wick’s origin story.
In an interview with IndieWire Stahelski revealed that he and Derek Kolstad, the writer who penned both John Wick films, are now developing a series called The Continental.

‘The Continental’ is a chain of assassin-friendly hotels in the films where murder is strictly banned.
We were first introduced to the New York Continental Hotel in the first film with the sequel revealing that there are Continental Hotels all over the world.
Stahelski told IndieWire:
It’s very tied to the film [in that] it’s about the Continentals all over the world, how certain people come into that world, and what happens in relation to those people, which is cool.
I think the world is very vast, and everything I’ve heard from it is very positive. […] It’s something that studio seems very, very intent on [making] and very, very behind.
When asked if Keanu Reeves would appear as John Wick in this series Stahelski said:
I think he would make an appearance, I think that’s part of his thing, [But the series] isn’t centred around John Wick.
The show is currently in development with Lionsgate but we are already getting impatient.
