While Jon Snow may be sworn to celibacy, sort of, Kit Harington has no such qualms and has recalled the moment he fell in love with his co-star Rose Leslie.
Kit met Rose on the set of HBO’s huge fantasy hit Game of Thrones, where she played Ygritte a wildling woman who Kit’s Jon Snow fell in love with, and the pair have been dating on and off since 2012.
According to E! News, Harington and Leslie rekindled their romance back in January but the pair didn’t officially come out as a couple until the 2016 Olivier Awards, at London’s Royal Opera House in April.
Harington told Vogue Italia that the pair fell in love while filming Game of Thrones and he recalled his time filming season two in Iceland as his favorite memory of the show.
He explained:
Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love. If you’re already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it’s becomes very easy to fall in love.
However it seems that Harington does share one thing in common with the Lord Commander he plays. They’ll both break their oaths for Ygritte as despite being sworn to secrecy over the fate of Jon Snow, Kit admits he did tell Rose.
While speaking to EW.com Harington revealed that he told Leslie about Snow ‘from early on’ but to be fair the showrunners knew that he was going to, saying ,’she was allowed to know’.
That said, Rose told Sky News that she ‘had no idea’ about Snow’s fate, adding, ‘So I was kind of, like, just as surprised as the rest of the world when the man woke back up again’.
