Kit Harington Will Say Goodbye To Game Of Thrones By ‘Getting Rid Of Jon Snow’

Ladies in Westeros and beyond have swooned over Jon Snow’s tousled, curly hair ever since we first clocked the easy-on-the-eye bastard sulking around Winterfell.

It was highly unlikely a man of the Night’s Watch would be able to get his hands on the kind of products needed to keep his hair this soft and swish-worthy.

The North isn’t exactly Manchester’s Northern Quarter and yet Jon still managed to rock an expert man bun after his post-resurrection makeover. A trendsetter even when faced with thousands of ice zombies.

Jon – and Kit Harington by association – is almost unimaginable without his characteristically windswept head of curls. But this may well be a prospect we will all need to learn to live with…

After eight gloomy, blood-soaked seasons, Kit is understandably looking to break away from the character who made him a household name, and from whose furry cloaked shadow he will struggle to escape.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Kit revealed:

I’d like to step away and enjoy the obscurity, cut my hair, make myself less recognizable as the character, and go do and some other things with a completely new look and tone.

When asked precisely how short he was planning to go, soon-to-be-wed Kit said:

Short-short. The beard will be harder to get rid of — I quite like the beard.

I like having the long hair and beard both, but it will be like ritualistic thing.

I can’t go into my next role looking the same. This role was brilliant, but I’ll need to get rid of Jon Snow.

Fans are none too happy at the thought of a cropped Kit.

One person wept:

Kit Harington wants to cut his hair after the end of got. We won’t see him as Jon Snow anymore.

Another begged:

OH MY GOD I GOOGLED IT AND KIT SAYS HE PLANS TO CUT HIS JON SNOW HAIR. noooo. can i have it. um, no reason.

I for one seriously worry for the safety of the hairdresser who has to sweep those beautiful, bouncy locks into a bin like trash.

We still have a long old desolate winter to wait until we catch up with our favourite fantasy monarchs. However, the main cast are already getting emotional.

Having wrapped up filming, Emilia Clark – who plays Daenerys Targaryen – paid tribute to her life-changing time on set with the following Instagram post:

Hopped on a boat to an island to say goodbye to the land that has been my home away from home for almost a decade.

It’s been a trip Game of Thrones thank you for the life I never dreamed I’d be able to live and the family I’ll never stop missing.

Despite him not knowing all too much under all that hair, Jon Snow will be sorely missed and Kit will always be a true Stark in our eyes, no matter how intently he tries to to shed his battle armour.

However, it will be exciting to see how the genuinely talented Kit will reinvent himself after what will surely be the most dramatic TV ending of all time.

Game of Thrones is set to return for the final time in 2019. I can’t tell right now whether I’m more excited or nervous…
