The jaw-dropping climax of Star Wars: The Force Awakens saw Han Solo meet a grisly end at the hands of his estranged son, the spoilt toddler of the resurgent dark side – Kylo Ren.

The film made it clear that the inspiration behind Kylo’s betrayal was his obsession with his grandfather, the inter-galactically-renowned super-Sith Darth Vader.

Fan theories have suggested the distress Kylo feels before impaling his father was a sign that he was genuinely conflicted and that we would see him return as a remorseful anti-hero in 2017’s as-yet-untitled Episode VIII.

The latest report from Making Star Wars seems to suggest otherwise, as the website claims that that Kylo’s attempts to honour this grandfather will only intensify in the next film, with him adopting yet another element of Vader’s iconic look.

Whilst the design of Kylo’s mask will remain largely the same, the young villain is said to have adopted a cloak extremely similar to the one last worn by Darth Vader in Return of the Jedi.

Whether it’s a replica knocked together in Kylo’s fanboy dungeon or is the cloak itself, this news definitely suggest that Ben Solo is nowhere near as remorseful as we need him to be.
