It’s hard to believe it’s been 23 years since Friends first hit our screens, so surely it’s high time for a reunion?
Apparently not though, if Lisa Kudrow has anything to do with it…
There’s been several Sex And The City Films, harking back to the 90s, so it only seems fair there should be a Friends film in the making too right?
Wrong. This is pretty much, absolutely off the cards, as Lisa Kudrow – who played Phoebe Buffay for ten years – revealed, but the reason she gave is hilarious.
NBC’s Savannah Guthrie dropped the question everyone-wanted-to-know to Lisa on her Today programme, only for the Friends star to hit back with a brilliant response.
She said:
I don’t see it happening. It would be fun, but what would it be about?
Surely lots of things, you might say, but the former Phoebe actress seemed to already have an answer…
She added:
Think about it. The thing we liked best about the show was that they were 20-somethings and they were their own family.
Now, they all have families, so what are we going to watch?
This is true. Kind of heartbreaking, but very true.
The presenter contributed to this sad realisation with:
Now we’re boring, middle-aged people.
And Lisa brilliantly replied by saying:
Right. I wouldn’t want to watch me.
I beg to differ, middle-aged or not, I think I speak for many when I say I would happily tune in for more Friends action.
She definitely has a point though, although it’s sad to admit it, the storylines did kind of cover everything and wrapped up quite nicely at the end…
Who knows though, she didn’t rule it out completely, perhaps there is still hope…
