ITVLove Island bosses are said to have taken Amy Hart out of the villa for some therapy after she was savagely dumped by Curtis Pritchard.
The flight attendant broke the nation’s heart as she sobbed in the Beach Hut after discovering Curtis’s head had been turned while she was in Casa Amor, despite them being half-girlfriend and boyfriend.
But things went from bad to worse on Thursday night’s show when Amy hinted she would be prepared to forgive Curtis in time, only to be told he couldn’t promise it wouldn’t happen again.
Now, ITV bosses have decided to whisk Amy out of the villa for the benefit of her good mental health following the ‘humiliation’ which played out in front of the nation.
Before this series began, Love Island bosses released new guidelines regarding the wellbeing of the Islanders, following the deaths of former contestants Sophie Gradon and Mike Thalassitis.
The new guidelines included therapy for Islanders both during and after their stint in the Villa, and it would seem ITV bosses are holding up their side of the bargain by taking Amy for help.
ITVWe reached out to ITV for a comment, and while they said they couldn’t comment specifically on this incident due to the medical confidentiality of the Islanders, they reaffirmed their commitment to looking after the physical and mental wellbeing of the Islanders.
They said in a statement:
We take the emotional well-being of all the Islanders extremely seriously.
We have dedicated welfare producers and psychological support on hand at all times who monitor and regularly speak to all of the Islanders in private and off camera, especially if someone appears to be upset.
All the Islanders are therefore fully supported by the professionals on site and by their friends in the villa. This means Islanders are always able to reach out and talk to someone if they feel the need.
We will of course continue to monitor all of our Islanders in line with our robust protocols.
Love Island holds a mirror up to relationships and all the different dynamics that go with them.
ITVAmy and Curtis went from being the ‘mum and dad’ of the Villa to being at breaking point when Curtis found his head turned by Jourdan Riane, in no less than ‘two conversations’, despite having spent four weeks being ‘exclusive’ with Amy.
After her stint in Casa Amor, Amy was heading back to the main villa to tell Curtis she’d fallen in love with him, only to discover he’d started having doubts in their relationship.
Poor Amy.
