Less than two months since it debuted on Netflix, Lucifer has proved to be very popular with viewers on the streaming service.

So much so, in fact, for the seventh week in a row it has topped the list of most-binged shows out of all the streaming services.

Compiled by TV Time, the Binge Report allows fans to track their television-watching habits, and the latest report suggests people are really digging the dark tale of Lucifer.

Seven weeks at the top ties Lucifer with Game of Thrones for ‘Most Binged’ show ever. So will it break the record and go for the eighth week in a row?

While Marvel’s Jessica Jones is in second place, with Trinkets, Friends and Dark making up the rest of the top five, Lucifer is over one per cent ahead of second place, so the other shows have got some catching up to do.

Of course, TV Time’s data is only logged by users of TV Time, which means it doesn’t necessarily represent the entire Netflix viewership. It does, however, provide a telling insight into viewing habits, and prove Lucifer fans are numerous and loyal.

The series was initially cancelled by Fox last year, though following a vocal outcry from viewers, Netflix picked up the fallen Lucifer.

However, even Netflix knows when to call it a day sometimes, as the streaming giant recently announced it would be stopping the series after the upcoming fifth season.

We did spend some time digging into what we think can be Season 5. We even have the first scene [of Season 5], which is one of my favorite things we’ve ever come up with.

While showrunner Ildy Modrovich added:

We really try to ping it in a completely different direction. If everybody is speculating on one thing, we just try to think as batshit as we can, as outside of the box as possible, so that people don’t get bored, so we don’t get bored.

We do have an idea. It’s an idea that when it came up in the room, we went, ‘Oh god, that’s crazy.’ Then the more we talked about it, the more we went, ‘brilliant’.

The show is based on the Vertigo Comics series of the same name. It stars Tom Ellis as the titular character, who flees Hell to live among humans on Earth, proceeding to run a nightclub in Los Angeles while also being a consultant with the LAPD.
