The latest Avengers: Endgame trailer was arguably the most eagerly anticipated trailer of the year so far, with fans absolutely thrilled to see their favourite superheroes back in action.
Marvel Twitter of course promptly exploded with collective bliss. A sequel which once felt galaxies away will soon be here in the relative finger click.
However, there is one small yet crucial detail which is niggling at some more style-conscious fans…
One scene shows our heroes striding purposefully along together wearing matching team suits, looking very much in sync.
However, not everyone was keen, with some comparing these futuristic new suits to ‘clown’ costumes.
One hand-wringing person gasped:
Steve Rogers cannot potentially die in this godforsaken ugly suit I won’t allow it.
Another sighed:
Everything looks great about Avengers Endgame; except for these suits.
Of course, these suits are about way more than just looking badass.
As reported by Uproxx, these are high-tech Quantum Realm suits; capable of saving the universe and bringing back all those who were disintegrated at the end of Infinity War.
Fortunately, there is plenty of good news amidst the forgivable fashion faux pas, including the apparent space escape of Tony Stark.
A previous trailer for the superhero movie showed Tony adrift in space and far from home; survival and reunion with loved ones looking alarmingly unlikely.
This new trailer shows the former playboy looking alive, well and free from space; walking side by side his superhero companions: Captain America, Ant-Man, Nebula, Hawkeye/Ronin, Black Widow and War Machine.
Addressing Pepper Potts via intergalactic communication, the ever-inventive business magnate said:
I fought my way out of that cave, became Iron Man, realized I love you,
I know I said no more surprises, but I was really hoping to pull off one last one.
Admittedly, his big comeback outfit could have gone down better, but it appears Tony’s loyal fan-base would have been thrilled to see him even if he’d donned a crinkly bin bag for a cloak.
According to the IMDb description for the upcoming movie:
After the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War (2018), the universe is in ruins. With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers assemble once more in order to undo Thanos’ actions and restore order to the universe.
Avengers:Infinity War was one of the most talked about films of 2018, earning both critical and commercial praise and bringing perhaps the most shocking ending in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Avengers: Endgame certainly has a Titan-sized pair of boots to fill come April…
Avengers: Endgame hits theatres exactly one year on from Infinity War on April 25, 2019.
