I know you’re all still reeling from Avengers: Endgame and probably can’t even begin to fathom another Marvel film (lol, jk) but just bear with me a sec.

How would you feel if I told you the Fantastic Four and the X-Men might soon be joining Spider-Man and co. in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Since Disney acquired 21st Century Fox earlier this year, there’s been no doubt in anyone’s mind that this would happen at some point – but until now, no one’s had any clue as to when this would be.

Now the second trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home has been released though, fans think they finally have the answer as to when Wolverine will be starring alongside Peter Parker – and it’s sooner than you might have thought.

In the trailer, Mysterio tells Parker he could use someone like him ‘on his world’. When Parker asks what he means, Nick Fury tells him that ‘the snap tore a hole in our dimension’ – hinting at a possible multiverse where other characters could make their way to the MCU.

Many fans think this could be the perfect way to introduce the likes of the X-Men and the Fantastic Four into a different dimension, allowing them to exist and fight alongside our other heroes.

Take a look at the trailer below:

Since it was announced that Spider-Man: Far From Home will close out the third phase of the MCU, rather than Avengers: Endgame, fans have been expecting something big to happen. After all, what could possibly beat Endgame?

The introduction of a possible multiverse could be how these misfits end up making their way into the MCU, particularly because of Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox.

Obviously, Marvel fans have taken to social media to make clear their thoughts on this, with many saying how ‘important’ this film will be for the next phase of Marvel films.

We have to bear in mind that this isn’t the only possibility though; as Newsweek reports, fans of the Marvel comics are well aware that Mysterio is actually a villain and so his claims of being from another world could be false.

Mysterio, played by Jake Gyllenhaal, could actually just be playing hero for his own ulterior motives. As such, he could be lying about the multiverse in order to get closer to Spider-Man.

I hope not, as the introduction of a multiverse could really set up phase four perfectly and I’d be gutted if such an opportunity was missed. Especially because I wanna know who the next Wolverine will be.

Spider-Man: Far From Home swings into cinemas on July 5.
