The D23 Expo, known as ‘the largest Disney fan event in the world’, takes place this weekend in California and the company has hit the ground running with revelation after revelation about their upcoming shows.

Disney+ will be home to original Marvel content, some of which has already been announced. However, at D23 Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, revealed the names of three more original scripted series.

Disney+ will also be home to Marvel’s first animated series, titled Marvel’s What If…, which explores alternate histories of pivotal moments in Marvel’s stories.

The three new live-action series are derived from Marvel comics – Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, and She-Hulk.

In the comics, She-Hulk, aka Jennifer Walters, is Bruce Banner’s cousin. She receives a transfusion of Banner’s blood and, lo and behold, gets his superhuman Hulky powers.

Ms. Marvel was a name first associated with Carol Danvers, who later took on the identity of Captain Marvel. The name Ms. Marvel was most recently passed on to Kamala Khan, Danvers’ teen protege. Khan is Marvel’s first Muslim character to headline her own comic.

Moon Knight, otherwise known as Marc Spector, is a former mercenary and CIA agent who has both multiple personalities and powers from an Egyptian god.

It’s not yet clear how closely the series will stick to the comic book stories but hopefully fans won’t have to wait too long to find out!
