What’s got two thumbs – four thumbs if the original two are chopped off – and possibly coming to a Spider-Man film near you? Everyone’s favourite regenerate, degenerate, superhero, Deadpool.
I know what you sarcastic little sh*tbags are thinking: ‘Spider-Man 3 was a gift from Sam Raimi and can never be replaced’ or something to that extent.
To be quite honest, you’re right, after all the time travelling confusion of Avengers: Endgame you’d think Marvel will be putting that mind melter back in the toy box for a very long time.
It’s just a royal pain to refer to films that haven’t been made after such titles as: Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man 3, The Amazing Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home. That’s way too many Spider-Men for one sentence. Try fitting that in a headline. It must be like climbing into those lycra suits.
Deadpool could be crossing over the Marvel Cinematic Universe, if a ‘most reliable source who has delivered 100%’ for MCU Cosmics is correct once more.
They say Marvel is ‘currently considering different options’ to introduce DP to the MCU. Or at least that’s how I interpreted it.
Wade Wilson’s entry into the MCU is said to be from three angles, that sexy athletic demon:
A new solo film, such as Deadpool 3.
A Disney+ limited series.
Guest-starring in Spider-Man 3.
MCU Cosmic report, because riffing off their characters is about the extent of my Marvel knowledge, the Disney+ option sticks out because everything on that service is family-friendly or PG-13 at most. Yawn… not for me thanks. I like my Deadpool bluer than a Parisian steak.
In the tried and tested rule of presenting three ideas, the third one sticks out the most – well it’s got me excited – as Marvel are said to be considering Deadpool in Spider-Man 3 seemingly confirming the rumour Tom Holland is contracted for three Spider-Man films like he’s said in the past.
Add to that the apparently popular Spider-Man/Deadpool crossover comics and we’ve got a recipe for a young upstart/foul-mouthed seasoned-pro superhero buddy cop cross-over. Mouthwatering.
