A mum has been left red-faced after filing a missing person’s report, only to discover her daughter on a reality tv show.
Rebekah Martinez was reported missing November 18 after her mother had been unable to contact her since November 12.

However, 22-year-old Rebekah was filming realitity TV show The Bachelor, where women compete to capture the affections of 35-year-old former IndyCar driver Arie Luyendyk Jr.
As Rebekah revealled on Twitter, she’d been hard to reach because there is poor signal where The Bachelor is filmed:
MOM. how many times do I have to tell you I don’t get cell service on The Bachelor?? https://t.co/iYnxQCIZBt

According to reports from the New York Times police procedure is to investigate missing people until they can make contact with the person directly – which was impossible while filming was taking place.
Here is Rebekah Martinez in action on the reality TV show:

The ridiculous situation meant that police and local press were searching for Rebekah while she was being watched by almost 10 million people on national TV.
One unfortunate circumstance for Rebekah is that her embarrassing driving license photo was used on her missing persons poster:
honestly the scariest thing about this story is that my efforts to conceal The Worst Drivers License Photo Of All Time have been thwarted https://t.co/z0venho66p

That is one of my worst nightmares to be honest, all passport size photos of me make me look like a serial killer.
Before this bizarre incident Rebekah had already generated a lot of buzz by breaking a record on the long-running show by being the youngest contestant to take part at just 22-years-old.
She also holds the slightly less impressive title of the first female contestant to have a ‘pixie’ haircut – but I guess there isn’t much to talk about when it comes to these shows.
Rebekah has been posting and commenting about the show since it has aired and has had a lot of fun poking fun at herself on the show:
when you realize your worth is found in how much you love yourself, not how much attention a man gives you pic.twitter.com/GGxlzqSFhZ

I like that she is subtly poking fun at the bizarre show that she is currently featuring on.
She has also joked about her ‘disappearance’ on Instagram:
She does make an important point there, this whole thing could have been avoided if she’d just told her mum where she was going to be.
You can watch Rebekah on The Bachelor on ABC, just like her mum probably should have.
