Have you been dying to know what happens in the time between Ridley Scott’s excellent 1979 classic Alien, and his “meh” prequel Prometheus?
Well my friend, Alien: Covenant is the film for you. The currently in production flick will bridge the gap between these two separate chapters of Alien history, and now the film’s official Facebook page has released a first look at star Katherine Waterston.
Pictured below sitting down, Katherine Waterston plays a character called Daniels, who will not be taking the alien threat sitting down.
This is one of the first official images from production, though as is so often the way, a number of on-set pictures have leaked over the past few months.
I don’t want to spoil anything for you, just in case you’re one of those crazy kids who like to go in to a film as fresh as possible.
Earlier in the month, The Daily Mail shared a pretty grim image that’s supposed to be from the set, which you can find here if you really want. The first official image shared was the insignia of the Covenant – the film’s titular ship, which you can see below.
In a recent interview for Inquirer, co-star Michael Fassbender discussed what we can expect:
It’s a fantastic mixture of high-end technology and primitive elements. The way that I can explain it is the same way that Ridley did Blade Runner.
Alien: Covenant bursts out of your chest before slithering into cinemas August 4, 2017.
