New Avengers Posters Confirm Return Of ‘Dead’ Hero

The final countdown is on to the release of Avengers: Endgame, which is now less than a month away.

To celebrate, Marvel Studios released a series of stunning character posters which feature both living and heroes thought dead.

The one-sheet posters were shared on Twitter by both Marvel Studios and stars, including Brie Larson, Zoe Saldana and Robert Downey Jr. with the tagline ‘Avenge the fallen’ emblazoned on them.

Cleverly the posters for the characters who did not survive Thanos’ snap at the end of Avengers: Infinity War are in black and white, indicating they are deceased.

Meanwhile the posters featuring those still standing are in colour, with the heroes looking off into the distance as they prepare to do ‘whatever it takes’.

A surprise was in store then for fans as a poster for Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie was released in colour logically confirming she is alive.

You may remember at the end of Thor: Ragnarok, Valkyrie, Thor, The Hulk, Loki and Heimdall were on an Asgardian refugee ship which was intercepted by Thanos.

Avengers: Infinity War opens in the aftermath of the devastating attack, with Valkyrie nowhere to be seen, leaving fans wondering whether she survived the onslaught.

While one of the film’s directors Joe Russo confirmed at a Q&A at the University of Iowa Valkyrie was taken on a rescue ship along with other Asgardians, we still didn’t know if she survived the deadly snap.

The new poster then not only confirms Valkyrie survived, but that she will be back in action in Avengers: Endgame, ready to kick Thanos’ purple ass.

We are still yet to see her in any other marketing material though, including TV spots, posters and trailers.

The latest full-length trailer did give us a more in-depth look at what to expect from Avengers: Endgame, featuring new footage.

We see more of Black Widow and Hawkeye’s reunion, a touching moment as they hold hands, as well as a flashback scene of the latter hero showing a young woman how to use a bow and arrow.

Each of the heroes then gets their chance to say they will do ‘whatever it takes’ to defeat Thanos, before the Avengers’ latest recruit, Captain Marvel, appears.

I was already excited for Avengers: Endgame, but the confirmation Valkyrie is going to be in it, a firm fan favourite, has made me even more enthusiastic.

Avengers: Endgame hits cinemas in the UK on April 25, 2019.
