New Game of Thrones Season 8 Photos Released By HBO

We may not have moving images from the last season of Game of Thrones just yet (apart from teasers), but we do have the second best thing.

HBO have shared some official set photos, showcasing everyone’s favourite heroes and villains of Westeros giving us their best blue steel.

We’ve got Cersei Lannister perched on the Iron Throne while wearing some awesome shoulder pads. We’ve got Jon Snow also rocking some great shoulder-wear. There’s Tyrion, Sansa, Jamie Lannister, Brienne of Tarth and Samwell Tarly all doing a great job of staring into the middle distance.

We’ve even got the Three-Eyed Raven himself, Bran Stark, keeping warm by the fire and – hopefully – figuring out how he’s finally going to be of use to the rest of the cast.

Last month, HBO revealed the next, and final, season of Game of Thrones will be smashing its way onto our screens on April 14. So, after two years of waiting, it’s just a matter of weeks before we get to know the fate of the Starks and the gang.

It’s set to be an epic finale too. While there’s only six episodes, each one is said to have a runtime of around 80 minutes.

It’s going to an odd feeling when we try to fill the Game of Thrones-shaped hole in our lives with lesser TV shows once this season has finished.

Speaking on his own feelings about the end of an era, Jon Snow himself, Kit Harrington, told Kiss FM, via the Independent:

I can’t really answer whether I’m happy or not. I don’t think it’s about happy or sad, really. I’m satisfied with what they did, but I don’t know whether I’ll be really satisfied until I see it.

It’s quite nice walking around, which will only happen for a few months before everyone’s seen it, knowing. I know and no one else does. I know how it wraps up. I think it’s gonna be groundbreaking.

I’m sure it will be too, Kit, I’m sure it will be.
