If fans of Game of Thrones could pick one character to return, a hell of a lot of them would say Khal Drogo.

The kick-ass Dothraki warlord had one of the shortest major character lifespans on the show, but that didn’t stop him from being one of the most beloved.

And while he was killed off way back in season one, he definitely hasn’t been forgotten by his legion of fans.

Luckily for them, Drogo could be in line for a comeback next season as actor Jason Momoa shared a very interesting picture on Instagram.

He added in the caption: “Congrats to my kit super proud of him and all the cast and crew congrats Game of Thrones you are the best can’t wait for the next season Aloha j. Back to work.”

Let’s break that all down. First of all, that’s Jason Mamoa with Kit Harington aka Jon Snow. That’s the first piece of proof we need that Khal Drogo is possibly back.

Secondly, fans are picking on his comment ‘back to work’.

Now, whether he’s ordering Kit back to work or Momoa is saying he’s going back to work remains unclear. But everyone seems to be assuming Momoa means he’s getting back to work – on Game of Thrones.

And it’s not the first time a possible Drogo resurrection has been suggested, either.

Just five weeks ago, this photo of Mamoa hanging out with GoT showrunners David Benioff and D.B Weiss in Ireland popped up:

If Khal Drogo was actually set to come back to GoT, given the fact that he was burnt to ashes, he’d probably return as a flashback, similar to the one Daenerys had in the House of the Undying.

So far, neither Momoa nor the showrunners have responded to the speculation on either Instagram post.

And that means there’s still hope.
