When it comes to sharks, unfortunately, people only tend to like them when they’re on a big screen, not lurking in the depth of the ocean they’re swimming in.

And speaking of sharks on our screens, there’s much debate as to which film is best when it comes to our sharp-toothed friends.

I don’t care what you say, but Jaws is obviously up there as one of the best, Finding Nemo – yes that counts because we have the great white Bruce – and of late we’ve had Jason Statham in The Meg, which to be honest, I didn’t think was anything to rave about.

But, we’ve had the amazing/terrible/incredible/entertaining/hilarious Sharknado:

It all started back in 2013, when we had the original Sharknado. The American disaster, horror-comedy, science-fiction film, which was released by Syfy, captured a special place in our hearts. For the right and wrong reasons.

Following its success, we then had; Sharknado 2: The Second One in 2014, Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! a year later in 2015, Sharknado: The 4th Awakens in 2016 and then finally, Sharknado 5: Global Swarming just last year.

However, in possibly the best news for you on a Sunday afternoon, the trailer for the sixth film in the franchise, The Last Sharknado: It’s About Time has dropped!

Check it out – now:

The reason I feel the Sharknado films are so great is because they have the ability to combine sharks – an animal people tend to be most scared by – with something real and equally as amazing, as well as staying relevant by touching on important issues such as global warming. I really hope you can detect my sarcasm there!

It’s genius really isn’t, I suppose? But the makers seem to have outdone themselves this time. Who’d have thought to combine sharks with one of the greatest creatures to have ever walked our planet – a T-Rex.

But back to the film, it seems that for The Last Sharknado: It’s About Time, the creators are going all out.

Apparently, the film is going to be stepping back in time to stop Sharknados from the past. So this will quite clearly involve our heroes, such as Fin, seeing dinosaurs, playing their part in the Revolutionary War when sharks attack the US – can’t believe I’ve just written that – medieval times when dragons and sharks mix – again, I can’t believe I’m actually writing that – and then they’ll also venture into the future to fight, what else, but robot sharks. I’m done!

There’s not a great amount of detail when it comes to the plot, but to be honest, I think we’ve got everything we needed to know just from the trailer and the headline!

If you’ve been keeping up to date on all things Sharknado, then you’ll know Tara Reid will once again be starring.

During a recent interview with Channel 9’s Today Extra, Reid gave her thoughts on the latest film, saying:

It’s just out of control, like, the movie, it… it does, it takes every step to the next level.

It… it really makes sense. From the first one. It really does it. It makes, like, a complete circle. I do really think it’s gonna be the end.

Yeah, kind of my thoughts exactly! Still, admit it, you know you can’t wait for this one to drop.

The Last Sharknado: It’s About Time is set to air in the UK on August 20.
