As well as being in constant fear for their lives on screen, it sounds like The Walking Dead’s stars have to put up with a lot off screen too…
Not only are they regularly hounded for spoilers, it turns out the actors have been subjected to both verbal and physical attacks as they try to go about their daily business.
Norman Reedus, who plays everyone’s favourite gruff, crossbow wielding biker Daryl, has revealed details of a shocking fan encounter he experienced alongside his co-star Jeffrey Dean Morgan aka Negan.
Admittedly Negan is the very definition of a psychotic maniac in the zombie epic, however it seems some people are having difficulty separating that persona from reality…
Speaking to Daily Star Online, Norman said:
I was with Jeffrey, we were riding motorcycles and we stopped in this little town to get coffee.
We’re sitting outside and this car pulls up and this little old lady hangs out of the car and goes: “You’re my Daryl!”
But the sweet little old lady wasn’t quite as taken with Jeffrey…
Norman continued:
She then looks at him and goes: “Fuck you!” This little old lady is screaming: “Don’t you touch him!”
He’s like: “Hey ma’am, we’re just having coffee,” and she’s like: “Where do you live?” and he’s like: “I’m not telling you.”
And this isn’t the first time the stars have had to put up with abuse from over-eager fans.
Back in 2015 Reedus himself was actually bitten by a fan at Walker Stalker Con in Secaucus, New Jersey.
According to reports from other fans, the hungry woman was waiting in line for a photo opportunity with Reedus when she tried to take a chunk out of him.
Talk about taking your work home with you…
