P Diddy Confirms He’s Bringing Back Making The Band

P Diddy has confirmed he’s bringing back his hit MTV talent show Making The Band.

Diddy made the announcement on Instagram, posting a selfie along with a caption confirming his decision to bring MTB back and asking people to start sending in their audition tapes to MTV.

In a statement Diddy said: 

MTV and I are back together again!! Making the Band is coming back bigger, bolder and more cutting edge. MTB on MTV was the pioneer of reality TV. We’re going to bring that supernatural energy back to the format and bring the world its next global superstars.

Nina L. Diaz, MTV’s President of Entertainment said that they couldn’t be happier to be welcoming back the incomparable Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs ‘to his rightful home at MTV’ adding fans everywhere have been clamouring for the show’s return.

She finished by promising fans plans for the resurrected show aim to develop the ‘biggest, most iconic season yet’.

Making The Band originally ran on MTV from 2002 to 2009 over 4 different iterations, each made up of three separate seasons, and spawned musical acts O-Town, Da Band, Danity Kane, Day26, and Donnie Klang with Diddy serving as the show’s head judge.

Casting is now open for the series, and you can audition by posting an audition video on any major social media platform with the hashtag #MTBCasting. The revived show will debut in 2020 on MTV.

Making The Band isn’t the only classic show MTV’s resurrecting they recently brought back The Hills, while The Real World has been redeveloped for Facebook Watch after the successful return of Jersey Shore on the social platform.
