Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage was in a 90s punk-funk band called Whizzy and there are some awesome photos from their gigs online.
Unfortunately there’s no video footage of it to be found… yet, but Dinklage was co-frontman of the band and also played the trumpet.
Apparently, the TV star suffered a facial injury while he was in the band, leaving him with a huge scar.

Peter’s scar runs from his neck to his eyebrow and happened during a Whizzy gig at CBGB in New York City, reports NME.
It happened when Dinklage was accidentally kneed in the face, but continued to perform despite bleeding on stage.
Since 2011, Dinklage has played the character Tyrion Lannister in HBO’s Game of Thrones and 4 years later, got to show off his signing talents once more, in a Comic Relief sketch, ‘Game of Thrones: The Musical‘.
His character, Tyrion, even beat his own queen – the Mother of Dragons – Daenerys Targaryen, to claim the top spot in a ‘Best GoT character’ poll of 2,400 fans conducted by Spinzwin.
A spokesman for Spinzwin said:
Tyrion is a worthy winner. It took him a while to make his mark on the show and viewers have seen many sides of his personality.
As his popularity grew he managed to survive a battle and has continued to win the hearts of fans with his razor sharp wit, and cool, calm and collected approach to helping Daenerys achieve her goals.
He has proven himself to be the smartest Lannister despite being ridiculed by his bitter, twisted sister.
This is despite the fact Dinklage said he very nearly turned the role down, not wanting to be typecast as a ‘fantasy dwarf’.
During a Reddit AMA, he confessed his guard was up when the Game of Thrones showrunners – David Benioff and co-creator Dan Weiss – first approached him and feared he’d end up with a ‘long beard and pointy shoes’.
Thankfully Benioff and Weiss managed to convince him by explaining what a complex character Tyrion was, painting a ‘flawed but beautiful’ portrait of everyone’s favourite Lannister.

He explained:
They told me about his complexity, the fact that he wasn’t a hero or a villain, that he was a womaniser and a drinker, and they painted a flawed and beautiful portrait of him, so I signed on.
Cool guy.
