Former Game of Thrones star Iwan Rheon has landed the lead villain role in Marvel’s upcoming Inhumans TV show.

He certainly has a knack for playing insufferable antagonists, he’s starred as Adolf Hitler recently, and before that we knew him as that insufferable-shit-bag-of-a-bastard Ramsay Snow Bolton. So the role of Maximus The Mad shouldn’t feel too foreign to him.

The Inhumans have already been introduced in the MCU via The Agents of SHIELD TV show – which has honestly gotten better – as actress Chole Bennett was revealed to be the Inhuman superhero Daisy Johnson, aka Quake. However the upcoming show will focus heavily on the Inhuman race and their city, Attilan.

Rheon’s character, Maximus The Mad is the brother to the Inhuman king Black Bolt, who has yet to be cast, he possesses genius intellect and superhuman strength. However he’s undermined by his far superior and popular sibling… hmmm we’ve heard this story in the MCU already haven’t we?

In a press statement, Head of Marvel Television and executive producer, Jeph Loeb, said:

Iwan’s ability to be charming, roguish, and still completely unexpectedly dangerous were all the different sides we needed to bring the character to life. We’re thrilled to have him on board.

Inhumans will be airing this year with the first two episodes premiering in IMAX theaters across the country.

Additionally, it’s going to be another big year for Marvel Studios with Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2 coming out May 5, followed by Spider-Man: Homecoming (July 7) and Thor: Ragnarok (November 3).
