Richard Hammond was knocked out in his second horror crash while filming.

The Grand Tour presenter was filming in a remote part of Mozambique, Africa, when he came off his motorbike and hit his head, leaving him unconscious on the road.

The accident comes nearly a decade after he television presenter was nearly killed in a crash while filming for Top Gear. He was travelling upwards of 288mph at the time.

The September 2006 incident saw his jet-powered car flip over after the front right tire burst, causing the vehicle to lose control. He spent five weeks in hospital with severe brain injuries.

Jeremy Clarkson told The Sun: “He really did hurt himself quite badly,” but when asked if Hammond was in hospital, Clarkson replied: “We don’t do hospitals.”

A source added:

Richard was traveling quite fast when he came off. It caused instant horror on set. There was a lot of concern. If his injuries had been serious it wouldn’t have been easy to get medical attention. It’s very remote there and facilities are basic.

The lads are known for having a laugh on set but Richard’s previous accident is still fresh in their minds. They were all shaken by the latest incident.
