Getty/YouTubeMusic superstar Rihanna has announced she will be taking on the iconic role of Marion Crane, which the late Hollywood actress Janet Leigh famously portrayed in horror classic Psycho.
The 28-year-old will star as Marion Crane in the final series of Bates Motel, the television prequel to Alfred Hitchcock’s famous 1960 horror film, the Mirror reports.
RiRi revealed the news in a video played during the show’s Comic-Con International panel in San Diego – basically, she managed to steal the show at Comic-Con without even being in attendance. Impressive really.

The video was later posted to the Bates Motel Twitter page.
In the video, Rihanna said:
I’m about to check into the Bates Motel very soon and guess what else? Guess who’s playing Marion?
Rihanna is currently touring Europe on latest album Anti. She’s a busy woman – you definitely can’t fault her work (work work work work) ethic.
The show, which has aired on the Universal channel in the UK, will end after the fifth season next year, its creators also revealed at Comic-Con.
Of course, we imagine the question on everyone’s lips now is whether Rihanna will recreate that famous shower scene?
