Ryan Reynolds Writes Review For His Own Gin Under Fake Name On Amazon

Ryan Reynolds: hugely successful actor, loving husband, father to two adorable children, and gin connoisseur.

Not forgetting his title of ‘resident class clown’, proven by the fact he’s always there to inject a bit of light into our otherwise dull Twitter feeds.

Which is why it was no surprise when he posted a hilarious Amazon review for his gin brand online – obviously written entirely by himself.

The review, which read like the plot of a bro comedy film, was written by a guy called Champ Nightengale. Except that guy was Reynolds, endorsing his own gin in the best way possible.

The actor has been the owner and chairman of Aviation Gin since February 2018, but has now decided to transfer his talents to the marketing team in a big way.

Posting a screenshot of the review to his Twitter page, Reynolds wrote:

I loved this review of Aviation Gin someone sent me after I wrote it.

Obviously, Nightengale – aka Reynolds – rated the gin five stars upon posting it on Saturday (June 22). However, the review was titled: ‘Love this product… BUT…’, setting the tone for the rest of what was to come.

It started out normally enough, with the not-so-anonymous reviewer saying he tried the gin because he’d heard it was ‘one of the highest rated ever,’ and that he both ‘loved and hated’ the drink.

He loved it because it was the ‘smoothest’ gin he’d ever tried and it ‘went down really easily’. However, Nightengale also believed there should be a disclaimer of some sort on the product to warn about the dangers of drinking too much.

The review continued to highlight the dangers of drinking too much, which is when the hilarity comes into it and Reynolds’ true motivation came to light.

Nightengale/Reynolds wrote:

What did I hate about it? I wish they’d provide some kind of warning about how much you’re supposed to have. I had a lot… and after a while I felt really great. Eventually that bubbly and illusory sense of well-being turned into a bit of a blur.

When I woke up the next day, I mentioned to my wife Linda that last night must have been a REAL blowout because I slept in my clothes. Even my shoes!

I also noticed it was really hard to look out the window at the Seattle skyline. Partly because of the bright sun (I’ve always been sensitive to light) but also because I don’t live in Seattle. I live in Coral Gables, Florida.

Also, it’s important to note, until that morning, I’d never met anyone named Linda.

The tweet immediately went viral after getting posted by Reynolds, with many drawing comparisons between the review and The Hangover franchise.

You know the one, where the group of guys get so drunk on a stag weekend they forget everything from the night before, including stealing a tiger from Mike Tyson and losing the groom? Yep, that one.

This isn’t the first time the Deadpool actor has made fun of his gin empire, either:

Incredible. 10/10 effort from our favourite prankster.
