Technology is a great thing, it can send people to the moon, connect you with someone on the other side of the world and keep you updated with what’s happening wherever you are 24/7.
On a lighter note, technology can be used for some serious lols. Whoever invented memes is, in my humble opinion, up there with the inventor of the internet. Whoever invented the technology that allows us to swap faces, however, might just take the top spot.
We’ve all done it, swapped our own mug for a friends or family member’s, or, for the more adventurous, an animal or literally anything with something that resembles a face. It’s hilarious and not at all creepy.
The fascinating face swap phenomenon is also responsible for allowing us to see what we’d look like as another gender, something I’m sure we’ve wondered at some point in our lives.
Using technology to swap gender can be eye-opening in more ways than one, especially when it’s not your own face involved.
One clever person has used the programme to transform famous male actors into their female counterparts. More specifically, actors from the Marvel universe. It’s an interesting choice of characters to go for, but one that yields unexpected results, Bored Panda reports.
The outcomes are intriguing to say the least, some look like themselves in wigs while others are almost unrecognisable, kinda makes me wonder…
Anyway, without further ado, here they are in all their glory!
Michael B. Jordan killing it.
Check out Wolverine going a bit Jane Seymour:
Have I seen you somewhere before?
It was all going so well. Sorry, Vin.
If they ever get stuck for casting a female Captain America…
Robert Downey Jr. looks a lot like, well, Robert Downey Jr.
And Tom Hiddleston, you probably don’t need an app for this, makeup would’ve done.
Sir Ian McKellan, you magnificent man, you.
Chadwick Boseman, more of a cougar than panther?
As for Ryan Reynolds, turns out he’s his own Gossip Girl. Isn’t this a striking resemblance to a certain Mrs Ryan Reynolds?
Sebastian Stan? More like Sebastian wo-man…
And last but not least, Benedict Cumberbatch. Wow.
As for ACTUAL females in the Marvel universe, Academy-award-winning actress Brie Larson is set to star as the main character in Marvel‘s first female-led superhero film, and expectations are high to say the least.
According to Marvel Studios head honcho, Kevin Feige, she’s the most powerful Avenger yet – yup, she can even go toe-to-toe with the Hulk.
For those who haven’t read the comics, Captain Marvel is one of the strongest superheroes in the main Marvel comics universe (616) – she’s basically like Captain America but with 10 times his power level thanks to her body being infused with alien (Kree) DNA.
The upcoming Captain Marvel film has also become a catalyst for progression in the MCU because at last, founding Avenger Black Widow (played by Scarlett Johansson), will be getting her own standalone film.
Yet more to look forward to from the Marvel universe.
But if you’re wandering what happens if you mix face swapping and Tinder, well, you might want to head over here and say ‘Howdy’ to our Olivia.
