Sons Of Anarchy Spin-Off Will Be On TV Soon

It’s been three long years since the finale of Sons of Anarchy and the untimely demise of Jax Teller.

The popular series, following biker group SAMCRO – as if you didn’t know – was a hugely popular crime drama which ran for seven years.

Main stars from the show included Charlie Hunnam, Katey Sagal Ron Pearlman and Drea de Matteo.

Well now, show creator Kurt Sutter – who also appeared in the series as Otto Delaney, has revealed that a spin-off series IS happening!

Hold on to your leather’s because we’re as excited as you are!

The new series will follow their once-rivals, the Mayans and their motorcycle club.

Mayans MC will pick up at the end of the finale from Sons Of Anarchy and focus on EZ Reyes – a young club prospect played by JD Pardo.

The channel FX+ will run the series with president John Landgraf labelling it as ‘exciting’ to MSN:

It’s a good sign.

I’m really excited about where we are in the process of Mayans. I’m very confident about the future of that spin-off.

In 2016, Kurt Sutter revealed spin-off talks were ongoing to Deadline:

We’re figuring out what that would look like and I’m in the process of meeting with writers and narrowing it down.

My intent is, over the hiatus, I’ll initiate a script for the pilot and take it from there.

Fans fearing about the legacy of the Son’s have no reason for alarm.

Sutter revealed:

[Mayans will be set] far enough away from Northern California [to not] step on the mythology that’s already been told.

It doesn’t mean that there couldn’t be some cool, ironic crossovers with familiar characters as the series progressed.

Unfortunately there’s no scheduled release date yet – not that we’ve heard anyway, but we’ll keep you updated!
