The second episode of the much awaited final season of Game of Thrones aired yesterday, and people were thirsty.
No, I’m not speaking about fans having a thirst for the drama; I’m referencing the characters of the HBO fantasy show who seemingly couldn’t keep their eyes (and hands) off each other.
Primarily Arya and Gendry, who shocked viewers when they had sex before the Battle of Winterfell because, y’know, they might die tomorrow.

Obviously, the cast knew about the surprising sex scene before us mere mortals, but you’d be wrong in thinking Maisie Williams knew about it before anyone else.
That’s because Sophie Williams, aka Sansa Stark, got through the script before her best pal and had to ring her like, immediately, to tell her what she’d just read.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Turner recalled:
I called Maisie and was like: ‘Have you read it yet?’ And she’s like, ‘I’m midway through episode one.’ And I’m like: This scene, this page, read it! This is awesome! She was very happy.
Williams confirmed her friend’s version of events, saying her sex scene was pretty much all she knew about the entire season for a little while.
HBOObviously, as any honourable best friend would, Turner wasn’t about to let this opportunity slip away from her without a taking the piss a bit first.
Hence how fans were able to witness a fairly explicit version of events from Sansa herself, when she posted a video on social media shortly after the episode aired.
Posting to her Instagram story, Turner gave Arya and Gendry’s sex scene an Easter-theme, describing the latter as an ‘Easter bunny’ who was ‘hop, hop, hopping into that pussaaaaay’. Ahem.
And that, my friends, is the tea. Hilarious. Unsurprisingly, Williams thought the entire thing was an elaborate joke played on her by showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss (after all, they have done it before).
The 22-year-old actor told Entertainment Weekly:
At first, I thought it was a prank. I was like, ‘Yo, good one.’ And [the showrunners were] like, ‘No, we haven’t done that this year.’ Oh f—k!
Obviously, the whole thing wasn’t a prank and the sex scene went ahead, dividing opinion among fans and distracting everyone from impending doom – at least for a little while.
