After eight years and nine seasons, beloved US legal drama Suits is picking up its briefcase and marching away from our TV screens… forever.
Suits brought us fierce legal battles and romantic intrigue; tangled storylines and – of course – one of the most stylish Duchesses of modern times.
Now, filming for the ninth and final season has all wrapped up, and emotions among the core cast members are understandably running high.
Gabriel Macht – who plays serial movie quoter Harvey Specter in the show – led the farewells with a grateful, bittersweet Instagram post:
9 years ago I started the @suits_usa journey. It all began with the most important person in my life by my side.
This life that has offered us so much…some easy, many challenging, countless miles apart and hours, days, and months separating us and our loved ones not to mention years of sacrifice on so many levels.
I count my blessings you sticking with me through to the bitter sweet end of this era. As I have thanked my wonderful crew, my talented ensemble, and the fantastic fans that keep coming back for more…I am most grateful for @jacindabarrett because without her there is no way any of this would have happened.
Sarah Rafferty, who plays witty legal secretary Donna Paulsen, also expressed her appreciation for her time on the show via Instagram, sharing a photo with co-star Rick Hoffman:

Gina Torres, who plays ambitious managing partner Jessica Pearson, shared a pic of six of the main cast members together at a runway fashion show, writing:
When I left This beautiful family the first time, I was not on social media. My thoughts were my own. My salute to the MOST delicious cast and crew, was wonderfully private, including hugs I can still feel.
Today I say goodbye for the second and last time to all that made this show so very extraordinary. You know who you are. You will forever have my deepest love and respect.
Torres left the show in season seven, but her character lives on beyond the world of Zane Specter Litt Wheeler Williams.
The 50-year-old actor reprised the role of Jessica this summer in Pearson, a politics focused spin-off which takes the powerhouse lawyer from New York to Chicago.
The ninth and final season of Suits premiered July 17, 2019 on USA Network, followed by the first ever episode of Pearson.
