It’s the news fans of the original Top Gear have all been waiting for, as Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May’s new show, The Grand Tour, has finally been given a release date.

The trio will be returning to our screens before you know it, with the official launch date for the highly-anticipated motoring show being announced as Friday, November 18th.

These brand spanking new episodes will be available to stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video and will follow every Friday for 12 weeks, Digital Spy reports.

We’ve also been given a few more details about the format of the new show. Clarkson, Hammond and May will be jetting across the globe hosting an episode in a different country from a giant tent- which might explain the name.

The first instalment will see the former Top Gear hosts pitch up in California, where filming will begin later this month.

It’s been reported that the guys have already taken their tent and live audience to Johannesburg, South Africa, with other locations set to be announced very soon.

The fact that they’ve been given a staggering £160 million budget for their 36-episode deal (that’s £4.5 million an episode), we expect that the old Top Gear vibe will be back with a vengeance.

Speaking to The Sun earlier this year, Clarkson said:

We’re all really excited. No-one telling us what we can and can’t do, just us hopefully producing great programmes. Amazon has been delightfully clear on that. ‘Just make the show you wanna make, guys.’ Music to my ears.

Fingers crossed that it lives up to all the hype!
