InstagramAs January dribbles ever closer towards its second week, most (including myself) are probably more excited for the short lived phase of ‘new year, new me’ that 2018 will bring about.
The Rock on the other hand is continuing to hit the gym hard (surprise, surprise) – so hard that he needs a toilet nearby, according to UPROXX.
Posting to Instagram, everyone’s favourite muscleman, Dwayne Johnson shared a picture of himself pumping iron with his biceps looking so bulked up they might just separate from his arms and begin a life of their own.
However – it wasn’t The Rock or his rippling biceps that caught everybody’s attention – but the bizarre positioning of a toilet beneath a squat rack in the background of the picture.
Now why on earth would a toilet be a necessary feature in the gym? Allow Dwayne to explain:
Yup, there’s a toilet in the squat rack,” explains The Rock. “We got after it hardcore this week at my good bud @gunnarfitness’ spot in LA. Intense chest, tri’s and neck training. Gunnar keeps a toilet (non-functioning;) in the rack which a whole other level of psychological bad assery.
But just what sort of psychological bad assery are we talking?
Again, allow Dwayne to explain (sorry, I just fucking love that rhyme):
My old man used to kick my ass so hard in the gym when I was a kid he’d say, ‘if you’re gonna throw up go out side.. and if you’re gonna cry then go home to your mother. If only we had this brilliant toilet in the gym idea when I was a kid I’d would’ve never had to go outside.
I can sympathise with The Rock here for I too have vomited outside the gym. But that’s more because I’m far too out of shape for my body to handle exercise without oncoming crippling nausea.
Yeah, I should really do something about that.
