From the writers of Superbad, Pineapple Express, and the guys that brought you Bad Neighbours, and This Is The End, it’s probably pretty hard to imagine this crew bringing you a Pixar-esque animation.
However, that’s exactly what they’ve done and it’s absolutely filthy and taking the Internet by storm.
Sausage Party is rumoured to be the first R-rated CG animated movie and, with an all-star cast and a hilarious trailer, it looks all set to be a cracker. Just imagine Toy Story with loads of swearing and you’re on the right track.
Seth Rogen posted the first trailer for the film – set to appear in cinemas across the UK in August – on Twitter earlier today:
Created by Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the trailer depicts the familiar Pixar setup of a group of humanised items – in this case, food – but things get pretty heavy when they realise their purpose in life is to be dismembered and devoured as ingredients.
And the film does not shy away from showing it as it is (if you can imagine what it’d actually be like to be a potato that gets brutally peeled in front of your mates).
That part, in particular, got me. The joyous and singing potato that gets shredded before screaming ‘She’s peeling my fucking skin!’. Hilarious.
The animation stars Jonah Hill, Kristen Wiig, Edward Norton, Nick Kroll, Michael Cera, James Franco, Bill Hader and, of course, Seth Rogen.
And people online are just as excited about Sausage Party as you’d expect…
Yeah, it’s definitely not for kids, Jordan!
As good as it looks, some people were perhaps just a little too enthusiastic.
Okay D-pimpN. Okay…
Sausage Party hits cinemas on August 12 and we can’t wait.
