28,000 people have signed a petition for Netflix to replace recently disgraced actor Kevin Spacey with Kevin James on House Of Cards.
The past few weeks have seen Spacey’s career go down the proverbial toilet after allegations of sexual misconduct made by Anthony Rapp and Harry Dreyfuss (son of Hollywood legend Richard Dreyfuss) came to light.
Initially, Spacey was axed from House Of Cards, but now, the show has ultimately been axed for good.
Now, there’s a petition to see comedy actor, Kevin James, take his place as Frank Underwood.

Change.org has amassed over 28,000 signatures calling for The King of Queens star to replace Spacey.
Robbie Pyma from Australia, who started the petition, wrote:
Losing a great show is hard, no matter the circumstances. However with hardship comes the opportunity for a great show to become one of the greatest television shows of all time.
I think Kevin James can elevate House of Cards to a globally adored franchise like Game of Thrones and make the entire world focus on one of the most important Netflix original series there is.
Is this a genuine request or an abject attempt at humour?
Either way it looks like the people want to see James in the role.

Kevin James is a national treasure. Kevin Spacey is a rapist. Both are named Kevin. Seems like a smart business decision to me.

It should be known categorically Kevin James hasn’t been in many great films, in fact I’ll put my professional integrity on the line and say he’s not been in ONE good movie.
His 2016 Netflix film The True Memoirs Of An International Assassin received an astonishing 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
While you may think he’s seriously underqualified for the role, we should point out he’s already played a fictional Commander-In-Chief in the very awful, Pixels – the biggest insult Hollywood made to video games since Uwe Bowl’s adaptation of House Of The Dead.
Since the allegations of Kevin Spacey‘s misconduct towards Rapp – who was 14 at the time – the popular streaming service has distanced themselves from him.
Officially they’ve pulled the plug on House of Cards and other potential Spacey-led Netflix projects.
In an attempt to do reduce the damage to his reputation Spacey released a statement saying:
I have a lot of respect and admiration for Anthony Rapp as an actor. I’m beyond horrified to hear his story.
I honestly do not remember the encounter, it would have been over 30 years ago.
But if I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology, for what would have been deeply inappropriate, drunken behavior [sic], and I am sorry for the feelings he describes having carried with him all these years.
Rapp and Dreyfuss’ accusations of Spacey’s sexual misconduct makes a good point about how abuse, in any form, not only occurs in a ‘heteronormative’ environments, but also within a LGBTQ+ space too.
