This Dutch TV show asks players whether they think a woman is ‘pregnant or fat’ and everything about it is so wrong.
There’s always plenty of dubious and frankly shit TV shows out there, but this one really takes the biscuit.
New Dutch show called Neem Je Zwemspullen Mee, which translates as ‘Bring Your Bathing Suit,’ seems to have crossed the line in terms of controversial content, according to the Telegraph.
On a recent episode of the bizarre programme, contestants have to guess whether a woman is ‘fat or pregnant’ – in front of the volunteer might I add – and it’s every kind of wrong possible.
It seems this particular humiliating theme is not the only one though in their repertoire, as other ‘challenges’ have included asking contestants if they think a woman’s boobs are ‘fake or not.’
Another disturbing episode asks whether Asian volunteers are ‘Chinese or Japanese,’ which is just asking for trouble.
The makers behind the show have shrugged off any criticism they have received though and instead believe it’s a great platform to deal with different issues with comedy.
They said in a statement:
The satirical setting is a way to laugh off all kinds of prejudices.
Through public humiliation, the creators are hoping to challenge any taboos and stereotypes which surround different issues and things people are scared to discuss for fear of repercussions.
It doesn’t seem everyone is on board with their strange concept though and there’s been a backlash on Twitter, which ridicules the derogatory nature of the misguided show.
People are so against it, there’s even a petition doing the rounds, blaming the TV channel for ‘downgrading women to pieces of meat.’
It certainly seems like a pretty degrading show, unacceptable on every level. Not cool guys.
