The stars of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) stepped on to the red carpet in style at the world premiere of Avengers: Endgame.
Robert Downey Jr., Brie Larson, Chris Hemsworth, Paul Rudd and co. all brought their A-game last night (April 22) at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
While they were all dressed to impress, one man stole the show with a unique ensemble – Vin Diesel.
You can watch the trailer for Avengers: Endgame here:
Diesel’s character Groot easily stole the spotlight in both the Guardians of the Galaxy films and made his mark in Avengers: Infinity War.
As Baby Groot, all the adorable Flora Colossus had to do was wave his tiny arms while dancing to Jackson 5’s I Want You Back to capture our hearts.
So it makes sense that Diesel is equally good at stealing our attention, dressing as Groot for the premiere screening.
And yes, it looks as awesome as it sounds.
Not many people could pull off a Groot inspired jacket which looks just like tree bark, but that is exactly what Diesel did… and we love him even more for it.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Diesel revealed the custom suit was inspired by his love of cosplay.
He said:
We do it in the name of love and cosplay.
All those [fans] out there, when you come into this premiere, you see so many people invested. They created costumes, they’re wearing it out there in the intense heat.
And I felt like just jumping in with them and being a part and repping with them. Hence the bark.
At the end of Avengers: Infinity War, Groot turned to dust in Thanos’ snap, leaving fans in tears.
Thanks to James Gunn, the director of both Guardians of the Galaxy films, the scene became even harder to watch when he revealed Groot’s heartbreaking last words to Rocket.
Asked by fan Joe Green on Twitter what Groot’s last words were, Gunn simply replied:
Spoiler… ‘Dad’.
I am crying again now…
Diesel wasn’t the only one who wore a Marvel themed outfit to last night’s premiere event as both Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and Brie Larson (Captain Marvel) wore glamorous jewellery inspired by the Infinity Stones.
Both of the bracelets featured jewels representing the six stones: reality, soul, mind, time, space and power.
The stones look better on the two heroes than they do on Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet… and I really hope the heroes take them off him in Avengers: Endgame.
Thankfully we haven’t got long to wait and see…
Avengers: Endgame will be released in the UK on April 25, 2019.
