A deleted scene from The Walking Dead season one has emerged and now that irritating plot hole can finally be plugged.

We’re now seven season’s deep into the flesh-eating zombie thriller series, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any overhanging plot lines from the first season, still niggling away at our brains.

Way back in 2010, when the series first lurched onto our screens, we met the Vatos hiding out in a nursing home in Atlanta, but that was the last we ever saw of them… Until now.

A deleted scene from the premiere of season two has been doing the rounds on social media, winding up on YouTube and ties up those loose ends nicely.

According to the scene, the nursing home they were seeking sanctuary in, became overrun by the blood-curdling ‘walkers,’ so initially you might think they’d been eaten to death.

This is actually not the case though and instead it transpired the ill-fated gang were disturbingly killed by human pillagers…

Interestingly, the season two premiere of ‘What Lies Ahead,’ was in actual fact, two episodes combined, as there was supposed to be an episode before this one, bridging the gap between the two.

It seems a mish-mish of cuts from the two episodes were used for the extended opening of the second series, which meant that vital bits had got chopped out, leaving viewers wondering what had become of the Vatos.

No-one really knows why the episodes were chopped and changed so much, only that when the series was first released, Robert Kirkman and Glen Mazzara explained they were keen to drive the story forward.

Of course, it’s still not entirely clear who it was that killed the Vatos, but perhaps that’s something that has got lost on the cutting room floor…

Season seven has now just finished, so perhaps more will be revealed in season eight…
