In the video, Spencer can be heard denying accusations of being a neo-Nazi, despite having previously called for ‘peaceful ethnic cleansing’ and runs a non-profit group ‘dedicated to the heritage, identity, and future of people of European descent in the United States’.

The 38-year-old white nationalist made headlines when he signed off an alt-right rally by shouting ‘Hail Trump, hail our people, hail victory!’ to which some of his supporters responded with the Nazi salute.

In a previous speech, Spencer said:

To be white is to be a striver, a crusader, an explorer and a conqueror.

We don’t exploit other groups, we don’t gain anything from their presence. They need us and not the other way around.

He was being interviewed in Washington DC this afternoon when a hooded man ran over and punched him in the face.

In the video, Spencer can be seen holding his jaw, while the hooded man flees the area.
