Only yesterday, I criticised Game of Thrones for the near constant barrage of trailers, teasers and publicity.
But it’s important to admit when you were wrong, and I was, because HBO has just released what’s probably its best looking Season 6 trailer yet!
We’ll start by getting the big question out of the way – no, we still don’t know what happens to Jon Snow and this trailer basically explains nothing about the ultimate fate of the deceased Lord Commander.
Much more importantly though, we see that now the show has finished with following the plot of the published books they’re going crazy, and this season looks to be the biggest yet, with more battles, bonking and booze than ever before.
Admittedly, things are looking bleak for our favourite Westrosians, with Tyrion facing rebellion in Mehreen, the Lannisters losing their grasp on the Iron Throne, Daenerys reduced to a slave in a Khalasar and, worst of all, an army of the dead is literally banging on the wall led by the hideous and evil Night King.
But, all is not lost, the dragons seem to be hunting their lost mother, the Lannisters have found their teeth again and Ser Davos mysteriously protecting the body of Jon with the Red Witch.
We really can’t put into words quite how epic the latest season looks, but it’s bigger and better than anything we’ve seen before, and we can’t wait for April 24 and the new season to finally start!
More of a concept than a journalist, Tom Percival was forged in the bowels of Salford University from which he emerged grasping a Masters in journalism.
Since then his rise has been described by himself as ‘meteoric’ rising to the esteemed rank of Social Editor at UNILAD as well as working at the BBC, Manchester Evening News, and ITV.
He credits his success to three core techniques, name repetition, personality mirroring, and never breaking off a handshake.
