The Love Island villa is renowned for many things, including but not exclusive to the many beautiful people who reside there for a couple of months every year.

It’s also known for the unforgettable chimes of ‘I’ve got a teeeexxxt!’ and ‘OMG he’s 100 per cent my type on paper,’ not forgetting the bitchy comments that get thrown around here and there every time someone’s head inevitably gets turned.

What the reality TV show isn’t renowned for though, is the trash talking of Sir David Attenborough – national treasure and all-round great guy. Well, until Yewande Biala walked into the villa, that is.

That’s right, the 23-year-old scientist doesn’t like the legendary broadcaster, branding him ‘boring’… I’m sorry, what?!

The revelation came as Yewande tried to win back the other half of her couple, 21-year-old Danny Williams, after his head was rather predictably turned by Arabella Chi.

As Yewande sat on his knee by the pool, Danny said:

I think it’s well cool when the birds come down to the pool. It’s like some David Attenborough stuff.

At which point the scientist said, ‘I hate watching those,’ before adding: ‘Every single person I know or have ever met says it’s amazing, but I just find it so bloody boring.’

Yewande, a quick word of advice: if you want to win your man back, this is not – I repeat not – the way to go about it!!

Obviously, Danny disagreed, saying he would ‘enjoy anything’ the 93-year-old TV icon said. Which, well… same.

The Twittersphere had a lot to say about Yewande’s controversial opinion, with many saying their heads had done a 560 degree turn (hi Tommy) regarding their opinion on the scientist because of her comments.

Regardless, viewers are hoping she sticks around after first-look footage of tonight’s episode shows Yewande breaking down in tears over the Danny-Arabella situation.

Footage shows her confronting the model, from Manchester, about his behaviour, asking him if he even knows what he wants after telling the two women completely different things.

Following on from their tense conversation, Yewande can be seen sobbing in the Beach Hut and saying: ‘I don’t understand why someone can’t just want me’.

The other Islanders then confront Danny about his behaviour, defending Yewande and accusing him of hurting her feelings.

Love Island continues on ITV2 at 9pm tonight.
