Chris Evans has tweeted a heartfelt tribute to the late Stan Lee, who has died at the age of 95.
Chris and Stan were known to have a strong, mutual respect and have previously spoken of their affection and admiration for each other.
The Captain America actor was able to express the feelings of so many fans with his eloquent summary of Stan’s vast legacy and his irreplaceability.
Taking to Twitter, Chris wrote:
There will never be another Stan Lee. For decades he provided both young and old with adventure, escape, comfort, confidence, inspiration, strength, friendship and joy. He exuded love and kindness and will leave an indelible mark on so, so, so many lives. Excelsior!!

Back in 2015, Stan spoke about the close bond he felt with Chris during an interview with Larry King, describing him as ‘the greatest guy’.
As reported by Cinemablend, Stan said:
Chris. The fellow who plays Captain America, he was the Human Torch and then they made him Captain America and he’s the greatest guy, but I love them all.
And the feeling was clearly mutual. Back in 2011, Chris spoke with excitement about working with Stan, who he described as a ‘legend’.
As reported by MTV, Chris said:
He’s an amazing human being,
The guy is a living legend. He’s so positive and so upbeat and so energetic and just a nice man.
There are very few people I’ve met who have achieved so much and have still maintained this youthful excitement.
He added:
He’s so happy to do things,
He’s so excited to live his life. He wakes up every day and he’s so excited to be Stan Lee. It’s a great thing that someone can hang on to that after years of dominating.
Chris isn’t the only Marvel actor to pay tribute to the great man; praising him both as a creator and as a human being.
Hugh Jackman, known for his lead role in Wolverine, described Stan as a ‘pioneering force’ and a ‘creative genius’:
We’ve lost a creative genius. Stan Lee was a pioneering force in the superhero universe. I’m proud to have been a small part of his legacy and …. to have helped bring one of his characters to life. #StanLee #Wolverine
Wasp actor Evangeline Lilly tweeted:
Stan…more than a master of stories, you always seemed like a master of living. I will look to you for inspiration for the rest of my life. You live on. xoxo Your Wasp
