PAAfter all the rumours that Emma Watson was kicked out of the main role in La La Land because she was too much of a ‘diva’, it turns out it was all, yep you guessed it… fake news.
The UN Women Global Goodwill Ambassador has clarified that she turned down the role that Emma Stone so beautifully fit into alongside Ryan Gosling.
We knew she was too polite to ever be a ‘diva’.
GettyThe reason why Emma Watson decided to turn down the award winning role is because she didn’t want to spread herself too thinly having already taken the part of Belle in Beauty and the Beast.
Speaking to Sirius XM’s Town Hall, Emma said:
It’s one of these frustrating things where names get attached to projects very early on as a way to kind of build anticipation or excitement for something that’s coming before anything is really actually agreed or set in stone.
It wasn’t a movie I could just sort of step into. I knew I had horse training, I knew I had dancing, I knew I had three months of singing ahead of me and I knew I had to be in London to really do that.
This wasn’t a movie I could just kind of parachute into. I knew I had to do the work, and I had to be where I had to be. So, you know, scheduling conflict-wise, it just didn’t work out.
GettySo it wasn’t her being a diva, she was just being realistic about being unable to do two huge singing and dancing movies at the same time.
Emma Stone nailed it anyway, so it seems the stars aligned perfectly.
