Walt Disney Studios Motion PicturesToy Story 3 set a new standard for Pixar animations, perching comfortably on the same shelf as the greatest sequels of all time.
As the movie came to a close, most loose ends were tied up as neatly as a tightly coiled Slinky Dog. Except of course, Woody’s evident pang of loss over his (Donated? Broken? Stolen?) shepherdess love, Bo Peep.
Despite being a rather self-assured, swaggering member of the toy box, Woody didn’t pursue any romantic partners in the smooch-fest which was Toy Story 3. From Barbie and Ken to Jessie and Spanish Buzz, amore was in the air, but not for our favourite cowboy.
It was clear to any true fan that Woody was still pining over Bo, and any new adventure would simply have to bring the cruelly separated couple together once more.
Fortunately, Bo is well and truly back, and it appears her time spent in the big wide world beyond Andy’s room has turned her into one strong and liberated shepherdess.
Gone is the restrictive, rustic dress and prim and proper bonnet. In a new tweet from Pixar, daring Bo can be seen with her bloomers on full display and a fetching pink bow.

As reported by Den of Geek, the newly updated synopsis is as follows:
Woody (voice of Tom Hanks) has always been confident about his place in the world, and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie.
So when Bonnie’s beloved new craft-project-turned-toy, Forky (voice of Tony Hale), declares himself as “trash” and not a toy, Woody takes it upon himself to show Forky why he should embrace being a toy.
But when Bonnie takes the whole gang on her family’s road trip excursion, Woody ends up on an unexpected detour that includes a reunion with his long-lost friend Bo Peep (voice of Annie Potts).
After years of being on her own, Bo’s adventurous spirit and life on the road belie her delicate porcelain exterior. As Woody and Bo realise they’re worlds apart when it comes to life as a toy, they soon come to find that’s the least of their worries.
Annie Potts, who plays the sheep herding sasspot, has reportedly also confirmed the tough cookie vibe we can expect from Bo 2.0:
She is modern, independent, capable and confident. Bo is written and conceived to be inspiring as she has weathered life’s ups and downs with grace. I aspire to that.
I for one am looking forward to the return of Bo, who displayed an admirable flirting technique for a porcelain nursery rhyme figure. But surely I can’t be the only one still concerned about the fate of Wheezy and his new squeaker?
The cute yet tragic penguin character has not been sighted since the days of Toy Story 2 and I can only hope this is because he’s been booked for a sell out musical tour across American playrooms.
Toy Story 4 will blast out of the toy box and into UK cinemas as of June 21 2019.
